From the 14th to the 22nd of July 2016, Friends of the Global Fund Europe in partnership with Pacific Friends of the Global Fund and the UN Foundation brought a select group of 8 journalists from Italy, Germany and Australia to South Africa to learn about the recent developments and upcoming milestones in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
In close coordination with UN agencies, government ministries, implementing partners of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria as well as other partners in South Africa, the fellowship provided journalists the chance to observe site visits, speak with health workers, communities and beneficiaries of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs, interview HIV/AIDS experts, UN officials, Global Fund & implementing partners staff at the conference, and witness how South Africa is addressing health and development issues more broadly.
